About The Role & Team
We’re looking for a Senior International Payroll Specialist to join our Accounting team, reporting to the Head of Payroll. The International Payroll Specialist will be responsible for managing international payrolls in a fast paced environment. This role will manage the full payroll process including receiving, validating, and completing payroll using CloudPayroll. This role partners closely with HRIS, Finance, and IT to keep our payroll systems running smoothly and to support scalable, compliant processes as Amplitude continues to grow across multiple regions.
This is a hybrid role based in our San Francisco office, with the expectation of being onsite two days. We believe some of the best collaboration happens in person, especially within our Accounting and Payroll teams.
As a Senior International Payroll Specialist, you will:
- Serve as the functional lead for CloudPay Payroll and Workday HCM, driving accuracy, compliance, and process efficiency.
- Oversee integrations and data flow between Workday HCM/ Cloud Payroll, but not limited to assist in processing US with Workday payroll, escalating and resolving issues as needed.
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of end-to-end payroll for countries across APAC and EMEA.
- Understand/research proper taxation of employer-paid benefits and country-specific payroll tax laws
- To ensure timely receipt and delivery of payroll data in accordance with payroll schedules
- Assist employees with questions and respond timely and with a customer friendly approach and a sense of urgency.
- Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures and ensure that policies and procedures are being adhered to (i. e. salary increases, bonus payouts and other compensation transactions) and keep written procedures updated
- Prepare payroll-related journal entries and general ledger files, partnering with the Accounting team for accurate financial reporting and reconciliations.
- Act as a subject matter expert and primary escalation point for complex payroll inquiries, audits, and compliance matters.
- Engagement with local in-country payroll providers to meet delivery timelines while minimizing escalations
- Participate in the development of processes and procedures for the team in accordance with customer and business requirements
- Ensure reconciliation and validation of data according to predefined payroll processing procedures and standards

At a minimum, you need to have:
- Deep working knowledge of Workday HCM and experience with integrated global payroll platforms like CloudPay.
- Strong understanding of payroll accounting principles, tax compliance, and labor regulations.
- Advanced Excel skills and the ability to analyze and reconcile large sets of payroll data accurately.

Based on legislation in California, the following details are for individuals who will work for Amplitude in San Francisco Bay Area of California. Salary range: $116,000 - $174,000 total target cash (inclusive of bonus or commission)
