Why This Job is Featured on The SaaS Jobs
Sales systems product roles sit at the intersection of revenue operations and platform engineering—an increasingly critical layer in modern SaaS, where predictable go-to-market execution depends on reliable internal tooling. This Senior Product Manager remit is notable for its focus on Salesforce-led workflows that span pre- and post-go-live, tying commercial execution to operational readiness and compliance in a global payments context.
For a SaaS career, this kind of mandate builds durable product judgment around internal platforms: translating stakeholder pain into roadmaps, defining prioritisation frameworks, and measuring outcomes like time-to-live and resolution time. The work naturally develops fluency in scaling mechanics—automation, auditability, and low-code/no-code patterns—while strengthening cross-functional leadership across Sales, Ops, Marketing, Pricing, and Engineering, a common operating model in larger SaaS organisations.
The role tends to suit product managers who prefer high-leverage “platform for teams” problems over end-user feature delivery, and who enjoy working through ambiguity across many stakeholders. It’s a strong match for someone comfortable balancing near-term workflow improvements with longer-horizon system strategy, and who wants their SaaS experience anchored in go-to-market infrastructure rather than a single product surface.

Job Description
This role is key to shaping scalable, auditable, and user-focused sales and operations processes at Checkout.com. The candidate will lead cross-functional efforts across product, engineering, and business teams to deliver workflows and tools that help Sales and Operations efficiently support clients pre- and post-go-live. The main goal is to reduce ‘time to live’ and resolution times while ensuring compliance.
Daily responsibilities include identifying stakeholder pain points, prioritizing development, and delivering capabilities that improve sales workflows, merchant care automation, onboarding, and other critical client-facing processes.
Key responsibilities:
-
Develop and own the Salesforce capabilities for all teams interacting with the platform.
-
Enable clients to enjoy a seamless ‘Sales and Onboarding Experience’ from the start of their relationship with Checkout.com, while ensuring internal operations are scalable and automated.
-
Build strong partnerships with business, product, and technology stakeholders: buy-in and collaboration to generate momentum for the go-to-market of new products. Partner teams include Commercial, Operations, Marketing, Merchant Care, Pricing (both Product and Strategy), and Onboarding Product.
-
Define and articulate a long-term Sales Platform Strategy that delivers measurable business outcomes over a 3-year horizon.
-
Build a fully automated and auditable Sales System to support scaling with confidence.
-
Establish a clear prioritisation framework to drive focus and secure stakeholder alignment. Collaborate with product and engineering leads to maintain consistency with cross-functional roadmaps.
-
Support global expansion through scalable, low-code/no-code pricing and onboarding solutions—reducing the time to enter new markets.
-
Become a subject matter expert on Sales, Merchant Care, and Marketing workflows, bringing in competitive insights and exploring innovations to improve internal and client-facing experiences.
-
Gain a deep understanding of Checkout.com’s customers, be them end-customers or developers, and businesses themselves.
-
Build strong relationships across your network, particularly with engineering. You foster a team culture that upholds Checkout.com’s operating principles.
Qualifications:
-
5-7 years of product management experience [Must have].
-
Strong understanding of Sales Systems and Operations workflows, particularly how commercial teams operate and interact with internal platforms [Must have].
-
Hands-on experience with CRMs, ideally with Salesforce Sales Cloud.
-
Salesforce certifications are a plus, but not required.
-
Familiarity with the payments industry is beneficial, but secondary to a deep understanding of Sales Systems and how they enable commercial operations.
-
Data-driven: Skilled at leveraging data and business insights to determine strategic priorities and drive the product roadmap and execution.
-
Customer-first: Think from the customer's perspective and can balance future opportunities with immediate needs.
-
End-to-end mindset: Think in a structured and diligent manner, understanding all key components necessary to drive the ongoing success of a product.
-
Stakeholder Management: You can navigate complex commercial requirements, balance customer needs with internal operational scalability, and negotiate across competing priorities with multiple teams.
-
Execution and ownership: You are a hands-on individual with a strong sense of ownership. You collaborate effectively across functions to ensure end-to-end process automation with other product teams. When needed, you’re comfortable self-serving Salesforce Lightning configurations to support business expansion.
-
Leadership: Excellent at collaborating with stakeholders in product, engineering, commercial, and business teams proactively, demonstrating high EQ and influencing skills.
-
Effective communicator: Able to inspire others with a shared vision and simplify complex concepts for a wide range of audiences.
