Why This Job is Featured on The SaaS Jobs
This Principal People Partner remit stands out in SaaS because it sits directly at the intersection of go-to-market execution and enterprise-scale people strategy. Partnering with Marketing leadership at Snowflake signals an environment where product-led narratives, pipeline accountability, and brand positioning are tightly linked to org design, leadership capability, and talent systems. The hybrid, office-tethered model also reflects how some SaaS companies treat senior stakeholder partnership as an in-person operating rhythm rather than a distributed function.
For a long-term SaaS career, the role offers a vantage point into how high-performing GTM organizations are built and maintained over time. Work spanning workforce planning, succession, executive coaching, and organizational redesign builds durable expertise that transfers across SaaS categories, especially where growth creates constant pressure on structure, decision-making, and leadership depth. The emphasis on data-backed counsel and executive-ready narratives aligns with how modern SaaS HR functions are expected to influence outcomes, not just administer programs.
This position fits an established People Partner who prefers ambiguous, high-discretion work and is comfortable challenging senior leaders with clear judgment. It will suit someone energized by Marketing and broader GTM complexity, and who wants to operate as a staff-plus advisor with enterprise-level scope rather than a narrowly defined HR business partner lane.

Job Description
Snowflake is about empowering enterprises to achieve their full potential — and people too. With a culture that’s all in on impact, innovation, and collaboration, Snowflake is the sweet spot for building big, moving fast, and taking technology — and careers — to the next level.
Snowflake is seeking a Principal People Partner to serve as the primary strategic advisor to our Marketing leadership organization, including direct partnership with the Chief Marketing Officer. This is a highly visible, staff-plus role designed for an experienced People Partner who operates with executive presence, strong independent judgment, and the ability to shape people strategy at scale.
This role is based in our Menlo Park office, with in-office attendance required three days per week. Due to the nature of ELT partnership, location flexibility is not available for this position.
The Principal People Partner will work closely with senior Marketing leaders, the Go-To-Market People Partner leadership team, and People Centers of Excellence to drive organizational effectiveness, leadership capability, and business-aligned people strategy. This role reports to the Director, People Partner, Go-To-Market.
THE IMPACT YOU WILL MAKE:
As a Principal People Partner, you will operate at the intersection of business strategy, leadership effectiveness, and organizational design, influencing outcomes well beyond your immediate client group. You will:
Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership: Partner directly with the CMO and senior Marketing leaders as a strategic thought partner. Provide candid, data-driven counsel on people, organizational, and leadership decisions, and confidently challenge perspectives when needed to drive the best outcomes for the business.
Shape Marketing people strategy: Translate Marketing’s business priorities into an integrated people strategy, spanning org design, workforce planning, succession, performance, and leadership development. Ensure people decisions support Snowflake’s growth, innovation, and market leadership.
Lead complex, high-impact initiatives: Own and drive enterprise-level initiatives such as organizational redesigns, leadership transitions, succession planning for critical roles, talent assessments, and retention strategies. Navigate ambiguity and influence outcomes without reliance on heavy process or structure.
Act as a change leader: Guide Marketing leaders through periods of growth, transformation, and evolving business needs. Serve as a steady presence during change, helping leaders manage organizational complexity while maintaining performance and engagement.
Coach at the most senior levels: Provide high-impact coaching to VP and SVP leaders, focused on leadership effectiveness, decision-making, team dynamics, and organizational health. Partner with Leadership Development COEs where appropriate, while maintaining ownership of executive-level coaching relationships.
Deliver executive-ready insights: Leverage data and qualitative insights to assess organizational health across engagement, performance, attrition, and diversity. Build concise, compelling narratives and presentations that enable executive decision-making and alignment.
Influence beyond Marketing: As a senior member of the People Partner team, contribute to cross-functional initiatives and help shape broader People Partner strategy, standards, and operating models across Snowflake.
Partner deeply with COEs: Collaborate closely with COEs and regional HR teams to deliver scalable, high-quality people solutions. Ensure consistency with Snowflake programs while tailoring approaches to the unique needs of the Marketing organization.
WHAT YOU BRING:
12+ years of progressive HR experience, with significant time spent supporting VP, SVP, and C-level leaders
Demonstrated experience partnering directly with a CMO or equivalent ELT leader
Strong background supporting Marketing or broader Go-To-Market organizations in technology environments
Proven ability to operate at a staff-plus or principal level, influencing outcomes beyond a single client group
Exceptional executive presence and communication skills, including the ability to deliver crisp, persuasive, data-backed recommendations
Deep expertise in organizational design, leadership coaching, succession planning, and navigating organizational conflict
Strong business and data acumen, with comfort using insights to challenge assumptions and guide decisions
Ability to operate independently in fast-moving, ambiguous environments, balancing strategic thinking with hands-on execution when needed
Experience in high-growth companies where People Partners are expected to roll up their sleeves, not rely on extensive infrastructure
Proven ability to influence and build trust with senior leaders across diverse functions and geographies
WORK MODEL & LOCATION:
Snowflake operates a hybrid work model, with three days per week in the Menlo Park office. Due to the nature of executive partnership in this role, this position is not eligible for remote or alternate-location arrangements.
