The Opportunity
Flock Safety is seeking an experienced Lead Demo Pilot to set the standard for our Drone as First Responder (DFR) and demonstration programs. The Lead Demo Pilot will play a crucial role in guiding demo operations, mentoring and evaluating Demo Pilots, and ensuring safe, consistent, and professional flight demonstrations across all locations. The ideal candidate will hold a current FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate, demonstrate deep operational knowledge of the Flock Aerodome system, and possess strong leadership skills to support both pilots and the broader Aviation Division.This position offers a unique opportunity to represent cutting edge technology that saves lives and improves public safety.
This position is an on-site position at a demo facility in Atlanta and will require up to 40% domestic travel.
What You’ll Do
Oversee Demonstration Operations: Act as RPIC or supervising pilot during demos and fly days. Ensure compliance with FAA regulations, company SOPs, and safety protocols. Lead pre-flight planning, crew briefings, and post-flight debriefs, and represent demo operations at high-profile events when required.
Team Leadership & Mentorship: Guide and mentor Demo Pilots to maintain consistency and excellence across the team. Support hiring and onboarding in coordination with the Chief Pilot. Provide feedback and coaching to ensure Demo Pilots are prepared for both operational and client-facing responsibilities.
Standardization & Training Oversight: Develop and maintain demo pilot training and recurrency programs. Conduct check-ins, evaluations, and scenario based standardization flights. Ensure demo pilots remain current in qualifications, SOP knowledge, and customer engagement standards.
Operational Oversight: Monitor demo operations across locations to ensure alignment with SOP go/no-go criteria, abort triggers, and contingency planning. Confirm demo facilities are resourced with required aircraft, batteries, and connectivity equipment. Support the Chief Pilot by providing regular updates on demo pilot performance and operational readiness.
Safety & Compliance: Review demo incident reports and ensure documentation aligns with FAA and Flock requirements. Contribute to trend analysis and implement operational adjustments to strengthen demo safety and consistency. Reinforce Flock’s non-punitive safety culture within the demo pilot team.
Cross-Functional Engagement: Work directly with Sales and DFR Specialists to plan and deliver safe and effective demos and fly days. Provide operational feedback from field operations to Product and Engineering teams to support ongoing system improvements. Represent demo operations in Aviation Division discussions and provide recommendations for program growth and refinement.
The Skillset
FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certification (required).
Demonstrated RPIC experience in structured UAS operations, ideally in demo, DFR, or public safety environments.
Strong knowledge of FAA regulations and Flock’s Demo & DFR SOP standards (airspace, weather, VLOS, safety planning).
Proven ability to mentor, evaluate, and standardize other pilots through training and example.
Excellent decision making skills under pressure, with disciplined applications of go/no-go and abort criteria.
Attention to detail and problem solving skills to maintain consistency and safety in demo operations.
Skilled communicator, able to coordinate across flight crews while representing Flock professionally to clients.
Customer focused mindset, with the ability to support internal and external stakeholders effectively.
Capable of independent field operation while thriving in collaborative, crossfunctional teams.
Ability to travel up to 40% and work outdoors over 70% of the time.
Physical capability to support flight operations, including handling equipment up to 50 lbs.

Represent the Demo Pilot Team in leadership discussions and provide recommendations for SOP updates and operational adjustments
Salary & Equity
In this role, you’ll receive a starting salary between $84,000 and $110,000 as well as Flock Safety Stock Options. Base salary is determined by job-related experience, education/training, as well as market indicators. Your recruiter will discuss this in-depth with you during our first chat.
Location
This role is based in Atlanta, Georgia where you’ll join our dynamic team to collaborate in person and drive innovation. Candidates must reside in or relocate to Atlanta, Georgia for this position.
