As a Business Analyst on our Software Development team, you will play a critical role in bridging the gap between product requirements and technical implementation. You will collaborate closely with product managers, developers, and designers to create the engineering scope breakdown based on the product documentation provided. You will also gather and document technical requirements and ensure that our software solutions meet the highest standards of functionality and user experience.
This role is a hybrid position where you'll be required to come into our office three times a week.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Requirements Gathering: work directly with the Product team to gather functional and non-functional requirements as you work through the technical scoping of a product initiative.
- Analysis & Documentation: Work with product and software development team to elicit, document, and prioritize work packages, ensuring alignment with project goals and objectives.
- Collaboration: Serve as a liaison between product team and the software development team, by translating complex technical concepts into easily understandable language for non-technical stakeholders.
- Perform gap analysis to identify discrepancies between business requirements and current systems.
- Technical Solution Design: Collaborate with the development architects to finalize solution scope, ensuring they meet business needs and comply with technical standards and best practices.
- Project Support: Assist in project planning, scheduling, and resource allocation, providing ongoing support to the development team during spring planning and execution stages.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements, automation, and efficiency enhancements within the software development lifecycle.
- Testing: Collaborate with Product and Development teams to plan, coordinate, and participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT), ensuring delivered solutions meet business needs and quality standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, preferably in a SaaS or software development environment.
- Strong understanding of software development methodologies (Agile, Scrum, etc.).
- Proficiency in requirement gathering techniques, use case development, user story creation, and process mapping.
- Experience with tools such as JIRA, Confluence, or similar project management and documentation software.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of SQL, data analysis, and reporting tools is a plus.
- Experience in supporting and conducting User Acceptance Testing (UAT), including ongoing test activities, documenting results, and ensuring alignment with product requirements.
