Daemo is building a new kind of AI solutions engineer. We're building an agentic system that takes a non-technical user's business problem, designs a custom web application and automations, builds them, deploys them, and maintains them.
We are a VC-backed team of Yale engineering grads. We are live with clients and actively productizing our platform for self-serve.
About The Role
As our Sales Engineer, you will act as the critical bridge between our advanced AI capabilities and our enterprise buyers. We have clients in the DC public affairs and government relations space, so familiarity with that world is a major advantage.
You will work directly with the founders to scale our acquisition engine. This is a highly entrepreneurial, hybrid role: you will orchestrate targeted outreach, run demos, advise executives on procurement, and occasionally dive into the code to wire up a custom API integration to close a deal. You are the ultimate translator — turning complex engineering into undeniable business value.
We're pretty flexible on the exact profile: if you're deeply technical, great. If you're less so, that's fine too — but we'd expect you to bring serious domain expertise and relationships in the public affairs and government relations ecosystem to compensate. Either way, you need to be someone who gets excited about learning what you don't already know.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical Sales & Outreach: Design and execute highly targeted outbound campaigns. Lead end-to-end sales cycles, communicating technical concepts clearly to non-technical executives and stakeholders.
- Solution Architecture & Prototyping: Leverage your coding experience to build custom proofs-of-concept, wire together APIs, and demonstrate exactly how Daemo integrates into a prospect's existing workflows.
- Customer Success & Product Feedback: Act as the primary technical advisor for our early enterprise users. You will onboard users, troubleshoot edge cases, and translate client needs into actionable engineering requirements for our backend team.
- Founder Operations: Run rapid GTM experiments, synthesize market research on specific verticals, and handle critical deal follow-ups to accelerate our revenue growth.
YOU WILL THRIVE IF...
- [Optional but great] You know the DC ecosystem. Experience in or familiarity with public affairs, government relations, or political consulting is a strong plus — we have clients in this space and want someone who can speak the language.
- You are a translator. You possess exceptional interpersonal skills and can effortlessly explain basic AI, LLM, and software architecture concepts to non-technical buyers.
- You are technical. You don't need to be a senior backend architect, but it’s a great plus if you can write a script, wire an API, or spin up a quick demo to solve a problem rather than doing it manually, when needed.
- You have an entrepreneurial drive. You've built products, side projects, or sales engines from scratch before (ex-founders do incredibly well in this role).
- You have a roll-up-your-sleeves mentality. You care about real-world revenue impact over perfection.
- You can navigate ambiguity. You operate well in fast-moving environments and figure things out without needing a playbook.
