Why This Job is Featured on The SaaS Jobs
Global SaaS companies increasingly treat government affairs as an operational discipline, not just an external relations function. This Executive Assistant role sits inside Spotify’s Global Government Affairs and Public Policy group in Washington, DC, where policy engagement can shape product constraints, market access, and platform rules across regions. The remit signals a high-visibility support position embedded in how a mature subscription platform navigates regulators and industry stakeholders.
For a SaaS career, the differentiator here is proximity to decision-making that connects external policy developments to internal execution. Coordinating across time zones, preparing briefing materials, and tracking priorities builds a working understanding of how large SaaS organizations translate complex, ambiguous inputs into aligned messages and concrete next steps. The repeated emphasis on presentations, agendas, and stakeholder coordination also develops a transferable operating toolkit relevant to executive support, program operations, and cross-functional enablement roles in other SaaS environments.
This role fits professionals who prefer being the connective tissue across multiple workstreams and who take satisfaction in precision, discretion, and follow-through. It is particularly suited to someone comfortable supporting senior leaders, working with confidential information, and keeping communication crisp across internal and external audiences in a policy-adjacent setting.
