Why This Job is Featured on The SaaS Jobs
This Chief of Staff, Product role sits at a common pressure point in modern SaaS: keeping product strategy, execution, and cross-functional alignment coherent as priorities multiply. Reporting directly to the CPO and acting as a proxy, the position is anchored in how SaaS product organizations operate day to day, where decision velocity and clear tradeoffs shape outcomes. The explicit mandate to evolve product development processes, including the use of AI, signals a focus on operating model design rather than only project coordination.
For a SaaS career, the work builds durable leverage in product operations and strategy. Exposure to goal setting, performance insights, and resource allocation develops fluency in the mechanisms SaaS leaders use to steer product portfolios. The mix of board preparation, new product lines, and potential M&A support also provides a view into how product becomes a company-level lever, a perspective that transfers across B2B software and platform businesses.
This role best suits someone who prefers ambiguous, high-trust work that requires strong written communication and relationship building across executive stakeholders. It fits professionals who like turning messy inputs into structured plans, and who can shift between research, program leadership, and decision support without needing a rigid lane.
