Why This Job is Featured on The SaaS Jobs
An Assistant Controller seat inside a SaaS company like Bizzabo is consequential because subscription businesses live and die by disciplined close, clean consolidation, and reliable GAAP reporting across entities. With a product-led platform serving global customers, the finance function becomes the system of record for decisions that touch revenue recognition, intercompany activity, and audit readiness, not just bookkeeping.
For a SaaS finance career, this role builds the operating muscle that scales: repeatable monthly and quarterly processes, cross-border reporting, and tight coordination with external auditors and tax advisors. The exposure to interfaces with Deal Desk, RevOps, Sales, R&D, and HR also helps develop an understanding of how SaaS workflows translate into financial outcomes, a transferable advantage for future controller-track or FP&A-adjacent paths. Familiarity with tools like NetSuite further strengthens portability across modern SaaS finance stacks.
This position suits a CPA who prefers hands-on ownership and learns quickly through execution rather than narrowly scoped projects. It will appeal to someone early in the controller path who wants broad coverage across close, compliance, and operational accounting, and who is comfortable partnering across functions while maintaining high precision under recurring deadlines.
