Why This Job is Featured on The SaaS Jobs
Analytics engineering has become a core function in SaaS companies where product usage, subscription revenue, and go to market execution all depend on trusted metrics. This role stands out because it sits at the intersection of technical modeling and business decision making, with a clear mandate to strengthen shared definitions of performance across teams. The emphasis on AI ready foundations also reflects where modern SaaS data platforms are heading, moving from dashboards toward automation and agent assisted workflows.
For a SaaS career, the work maps closely to the problems that recur across subscription businesses: aligning data from systems like CRM and product telemetry, standardising a single source of truth, and enabling self service analytics without sacrificing governance. Building durable models in dbt and operating on AWS backed infrastructure develops skills that transfer across data organisations, particularly those supporting product, marketing, and revenue operations.
The position is best suited to someone who enjoys ownership over end to end datasets, is comfortable acting as a consultative partner rather than a ticket taker, and values clarity in definitions and measurement. It also fits professionals who want to influence how an organisation uses data, including mentoring peers and raising analytics maturity through scalable patterns.
The section above is editorial commentary from The SaaS Jobs, provided to help SaaS professionals understand the role in a broader industry context.
Job Description
About the role:
At Dashlane, we believe that data is an engine of growth and the voice of our customer. We are looking for a Analytics Engineer to join our collaborative and impact-driven Data & Analytics team. You will act as a strategic partner to the business, bridging the gap between deep technical modeling and business strategy to power how Dashlane makes decisions.
You will be a key driver in transforming our team from a reactive support function into a proactive, strategic powerhouse. Your work will directly shape how Dashlane measures success, from building out robust, AI-ready data foundations to delivering actionable insights that directly impact our bottom line. You will tackle complex data architecture problems, empower the organisation through self-service, and act as a force multiplier by mentoring peers and upskilling stakeholders.
If you are passionate about treating data as a product, succeed in autonomy, and want to have a massive, visible impact on a thriving B2B/B2C SaaS business, this role is for you.
Location-Specific Information:
You will be based in Lisbon, with English as your working language. At Dashlane, we embrace a hybrid culture that combines the best of both worlds: the creativity and energy of in-person collaboration with the flexibility of remote work. Our model is designed to strengthen team connections while supporting individual productivity and work-life balance. To maximize collaboration, we come together in the office on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays, while Wednesdays and Fridays offer more flexibility for focused work.
At Dashlane, you will:
- Build & own complex data models: Design, build, test, and own end-to-end data models within our dbt-powered “Unified Data Model”. You will untangle historically messy datasets (like Salesforce) and refactor them into clean, intuitive models that serve as a single source of truth.
- Drive proactive business impact: Act as a consultative partner to our Product + Go-to-Market and business teams. Move beyond reactive "support desk" requests to uncover underlying business problems and deliver proactive, data-driven insights that drive measurable outcomes (shifting the conversation from "what happened" to "what's next").
- Champion self-service & upskill stakeholders: Be a primary driver of our self-service analytics culture. You will guide stakeholders toward scalable, self-serve solutions in Omni, gently pushing back on ad-hoc dashboard requests to upskill the organisation and scale autonomy.
- Pioneer AI data agents & automation: Implement AI data agents and the necessary underlying foundations to automate reporting and alerting for key business metrics, bringing an AI-first mindset to maximise the team's efficiency.
- Elevate data governance & the team: Implement and maintain data quality tests and governance best practices to ensure trust in our data. As a senior technical contributor, you will mentor more junior engineers, proactively improve team processes, and help raise the technical bar.
Requirements:
- You have 3+ years of experience in an Analytics Engineering position or equivalent role.
- You are an expert in SQL and dbt, with deep, hands-on experience designing, deploying, and maintaining complex data models in a production environment.
- You have strong strategic business acumen and a deep understanding of the B2B SaaS engine. You speak the language of ARR, NRR, churn, and product-led growth.
- You possess highly consultative stakeholder management skills. You don't just take tickets; you uncover the true business need, drive alignment, and take proactive ownership of initiatives from end to end.
- You are an "AI Champion." You are fluent with AI coding platforms such as Claude Code and you already have demonstrated experience integrating modern GenAI tooling into your day-to-day analytics workflow to accelerate development, and you are eager to mentor the rest of the organisation on these tools.
- You thrive in an autonomous, high-exposure environment and have a relentless curiosity to untangle complex data puzzles.
- You are fluent in English: verbal and written.
Our Tech Stack:
- Data Modeling & Transformation: dbt
- Programming Languages: SQL, Python
- Data Platform: AWS (Redshift, S3, Lambda, Kinesis, Glue)
- BI & Visualisation: Omni
- Orchestration: Airflow
- CI/CD & Version Control: GitLab
- AI: Claude Code
