Why This Job is Featured on The SaaS Jobs
Dashlane’s web extension sits at the intersection of product experience, security, and reliability, which is a core SaaS challenge when software is used daily at large scale. Featuring a Director of Engineering role tied to a widely adopted browser surface highlights the kind of engineering leadership that directly influences retention and trust, not just feature throughput. The Lisbon base and hybrid setup also signals a mature operating model where cross functional alignment and predictable delivery matter.
For a SaaS engineering leader, this role offers durable career leverage through practice in scaling teams and systems while keeping quality and stability front of mind. The remit spans developing engineering managers, shaping roadmaps with product and business stakeholders, and improving processes that reduce delivery friction. Those are transferable muscles across subscription businesses, where platform choices, incident risk, and user experience are tightly coupled to revenue outcomes.
This position suits someone who enjoys leading leaders and balancing strategy with periodic hands on involvement in technical decisions and documentation. It will fit professionals who prefer building autonomy and accountability across multiple teams, and who are motivated by operational clarity as complexity increases. It is also a strong match for candidates who want their impact to be visible in a customer facing surface used at scale.
