Why This Job is Featured on The SaaS Jobs
This role is featured because it sits at the heart of modern SaaS infrastructure: the data platform layer that determines how reliably a cloud product can ingest, transform, and serve information at scale. With Snowflake operating a large, distributed data system, the work reflects the realities of platform engineering in mature SaaS, where performance, correctness, and operability directly shape the product experience.
From a SaaS career perspective, data transformation engineering builds durable skills that transfer across analytics platforms, developer tools, and AI-enabled products. Designing real time and batch pipelines, contributing to architecture, and partnering with product and data science are recurring patterns in subscription software, where teams iterate continuously and decisions compound over time. Exposure to streaming frameworks and lakehouse style architectures also maps to how many SaaS companies now structure their data estates.
The position is best suited to engineers who enjoy systems work over surface level feature delivery and who like making tradeoffs visible through tests, instrumentation, and clear code. It also fits early career profiles looking to grow into platform ownership, particularly those motivated by distributed systems fundamentals and pragmatic collaboration across engineering and product boundaries.

Job Description
At Snowflake, we are powering the era of the agentic enterprise. To usher in this new era, we seek AI-native thinkers across every function who are energized by the opportunity to reinvent how they work. You don’t just use tools; you possess an innate curiosity, treating AI as a high-trust collaborator that is core to how you solve problems and accelerate your impact. We look for low-ego individuals who thrive in dynamic and fast-moving environments and move with an experimental mindset — who rapidly test emerging capabilities to discover simpler, more powerful ways to deliver results. At Snowflake, your role isn't just to execute a function, but to help redefine the future of how work gets done.
About the Role
We are looking for talented Software Engineers to join our Data Platform team. You will design, build, and operate large-scale distributed data systems that power Snowflake's core platform. This role is open to both new college graduates (MSc/PhD) and early career professionals.
What You'll Do
Design and implement scalable, high-throughput data processing systems
Build and maintain real-time and batch data pipelines
Collaborate cross-functionally with product, infrastructure, and data science teams
Contribute to architectural decisions and technical roadmaps
Write clean, tested, production-quality code at scale
What We're Looking For
Required:
BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
Strong foundation in distributed systems, algorithms, and data structures
Proficiency in Java, Scala, Python, or C++
Experience with large-scale data systems or cloud platforms
Strongly Desirable:
Experience with Apache Flink and/or Apache Spark for stream or batch processing
Familiarity with AI-augmented software development practices — using LLMs/Copilot tools to accelerate engineering workflows, prototype solutions, and improve code quality
Experience with Kafka, data lakehouse architectures, or SQL engines
Snowflake is growing fast, and we’re scaling our team to help enable and accelerate our growth. We are looking for people who share our values, challenge ordinary thinking, and push the pace of innovation while building a future for themselves and Snowflake.
How do you want to make your impact?
