Why This Job is Featured on The SaaS Jobs
This Software Engineer, Data Transformation role sits at the core of a modern data cloud platform, where “data transformation” is not a back-office function but a product-critical capability. In the SaaS ecosystem, Snowflake represents the category of infrastructure software that other SaaS companies build on, so engineering work here tends to be shaped by multi-tenant scale, reliability expectations, and platform constraints that differ from single-application products.
For a SaaS career, the long-term value is the chance to develop strong instincts for building and operating distributed data systems that serve many downstream use cases at once. Experience with real-time and batch pipelines, architectural tradeoffs, and cross-functional collaboration maps well to data platform teams across SaaS, from analytics products to AI-enabled applications. The emphasis on production-quality code and roadmapping also supports growth into roles that influence platform direction.
This position is best suited to early-career engineers, including new graduates, who want foundational exposure to large-scale systems rather than narrow feature work. It will appeal to professionals who enjoy rigorous problem solving, care about operational outcomes, and are motivated by learning widely used data technologies such as Flink or Spark within a cloud context.

Job Description
At Snowflake, we are powering the era of the agentic enterprise. To usher in this new era, we seek AI-native thinkers across every function who are energized by the opportunity to reinvent how they work. You don’t just use tools; you possess an innate curiosity, treating AI as a high-trust collaborator that is core to how you solve problems and accelerate your impact. We look for low-ego individuals who thrive in dynamic and fast-moving environments and move with an experimental mindset — who rapidly test emerging capabilities to discover simpler, more powerful ways to deliver results. At Snowflake, your role isn't just to execute a function, but to help redefine the future of how work gets done.
About the Role
We are looking for talented Software Engineers to join our Data Platform team. You will design, build, and operate large-scale distributed data systems that power Snowflake's core platform. This role is open to both new college graduates (MSc/PhD) and early career professionals.
What You'll Do
Design and implement scalable, high-throughput data processing systems
Build and maintain real-time and batch data pipelines
Collaborate cross-functionally with product, infrastructure, and data science teams
Contribute to architectural decisions and technical roadmaps
Write clean, tested, production-quality code at scale
What We're Looking For
Required:
BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
Strong foundation in distributed systems, algorithms, and data structures
Proficiency in Java, Scala, Python, or C++
Experience with large-scale data systems or cloud platforms
Strongly Desirable:
Experience with Apache Flink and/or Apache Spark for stream or batch processing
Familiarity with AI-augmented software development practices — using LLMs/Copilot tools to accelerate engineering workflows, prototype solutions, and improve code quality
Experience with Kafka, data lakehouse architectures, or SQL engines
Snowflake is growing fast, and we’re scaling our team to help enable and accelerate our growth. We are looking for people who share our values, challenge ordinary thinking, and push the pace of innovation while building a future for themselves and Snowflake.
How do you want to make your impact?
