Why This Job is Featured on The SaaS Jobs
This Senior Software Architect role sits at a SaaS intersection that is becoming increasingly important: AI-native product architecture where orchestration, reliability guardrails, and data pipelines are core platform concerns rather than add-ons. The listing signals a venture-backed company building a category-defining application layer on top of proprietary spatial data, which is a common pattern in modern vertical SaaS and applied AI platforms.
From a SaaS career perspective, the work maps to durable platform-building skills: evolving a production system while modernizing legacy components, shaping technical standards, and aligning cost and scalability choices with real user demand. Reporting to the CPTO also implies proximity to product and business trade-offs that frequently define senior technical impact in SaaS, especially when AI capabilities affect latency, observability, and release discipline.
This role is best suited to an architect who prefers hands-on technical leadership and is comfortable making architectural decisions across backend, infrastructure, and data. It will fit someone who enjoys turning ambiguous AI workflows into dependable systems, mentoring engineers through transitions, and treating operational maturity as part of the product.
The section above is editorial commentary from The SaaS Jobs, provided to help SaaS professionals understand the role in a broader industry context.
Job Description
qbiq created a new category in the real estate market: We are building the world’s first agentic spatial automated architectural planning platform, compressing what once took architectural teams weeks into decisions that happen in real time.
Backed by Insight Partners and top-tier venture capital, qbiq has delivered over 700 million square feet of spatial analysis across 100+ countries - and we’re just getting started.
What makes this an exceptional place to build is the technology is genuinely frontier. We operate at the intersection of agentic AI, generative workflows, and proprietary spatial data - a combination no one else has.
Our platform reasons about physical space the way LLMs reason about language, and the engineering challenges that come with that are unlike anything in a conventional SaaS product.
We are removing one of the most critical decision-making bottlenecks in the multi-trillion-dollar commercial real estate market, and we’re doing it with a small, sharp team that moves fast. Your work here will be visible, impactful, and shipped.
If you want to work on problems that are new, hard, and consequential, qbiq is the place!
The Role
We need a hands-on Senior Software Architect to define our technical foundation as we scale - someone who's shipped agentic AI products in production and is equally skilled modernizing legacy systems and designing greenfield architecture. You'll report directly to the CPTO.
What You'll Do
- Drive architecture strategy across full-stack, infrastructure, and data layers with an AI-native mindset - including agentic workflows, orchestration, and hallucination guardrails
- Mentoring engineers
- Cost optimization
- Create new process and review current processes
- Automate manual processes with AI tools
- Lead migration from legacy to AI-native architecture
- Manage data pipelines and data structure
- Redesign existing processes to be AI-native
Requirements
What We're Looking For
- 8+ years in software engineering, including large-scale distributed systems architecture
- Proven track record as a Senior Architect or similar technical leadership role
- Hands-on experience building agentic AI platforms (orchestration, multi-agent workflows, tool-calling, LLM reliability/guardrails)
- AI-native mindset — AI reasoning as a core architectural component, not a bolt-on
- Deep Python backend expertise and modern software architecture principles
- Strong experience with APIs, microservices, event-driven systems, cloud-native apps
- AWS/cloud infrastructure at scale, including infrastructure-as-code
- MLOps experience — building and hardening automated build/test/release systems
- Proven legacy modernization experience (technical debt audits, phased migrations, safe production execution)
- Strong SQL/NoSQL and high-performance data storage knowledge
- Docker, Kubernetes, AWS ECS, or similar container orchestration
- Amazon SageMaker and Amazon Bedrock or similar
- Understanding of distributed systems, messaging, and async architectures
- Track record formalizing scalable engineering procedures (release processes, ownership models, documentation)
- BSc/MSc in Computer Science, Mathematics, or Engineering required
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Strong ownership mindset and passion for hard technical problems
If you want to architect technology that pushes the boundaries of AI, automation, and spatial intelligence - let's talk.
