Why This Job is Featured on The SaaS Jobs
Security SaaS continues to be one of the most technically demanding corners of the ecosystem, where buying decisions depend on proof, not positioning. A Sales Engineer II role in a vendor like Huntress sits at the intersection of product capability and real-world risk, translating how a managed security platform fits into the day-to-day realities of IT teams. With a remote footprint across Australia and customer travel, the role reflects how modern SaaS security companies sell: distributed, consultative, and closely tied to operational outcomes.
From a SaaS career standpoint, sales engineering builds durable leverage across functions. It develops the ability to run technical discovery, shape solution narratives, and surface product gaps in a way that influences roadmap and enablement. Experience working alongside Sales, Marketing, Support, and Engineering is particularly transferable in SaaS, where feedback loops between customer conversations and product decisions are a competitive advantage.
This position is best suited to practitioners who enjoy customer-facing technical work and can move comfortably between deep security detail and executive-level communication. It also fits professionals who prefer structured autonomy in a remote environment and who value cross-team collaboration over owning a single narrow technical domain.
