Why This Job is Featured on The SaaS Jobs
This Senior Back End Developer role stands out in the SaaS landscape because it sits at the intersection of cloud-native engineering and productised AI. The listing signals a company building a new software category, where backend systems are not just supporting features but enabling algorithmic services and multi-tenant delivery. With an on-site base in the Tel Aviv District, the work appears closely tied to core engineering decisions rather than a peripheral implementation function.
From a SaaS career perspective, the remit maps to durable platform skills: designing APIs, operating distributed services, and building reliability into systems that must scale. Experience spanning AWS, infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD, and data stores translates directly across modern SaaS organisations, especially those moving from early product-market proof to more rigorous operational maturity. The emphasis on architectural decision-making also aligns with progression toward staff-level ownership in SaaS engineering.
This position is best suited to engineers who prefer end-to-end accountability—balancing system design, delivery, and operational considerations—while collaborating across functions. It fits professionals who enjoy setting standards through code review and technical direction, and who want their backend work to be tightly coupled to how a SaaS product evolves in production.

Job Description
We are looking for a passionate Backend Developer to join our core engineering team and play a key role in shaping qbiq’s cutting-edge solutions.
qbiq is pioneering a new category in the real estate industry with the first-ever Architectural AI platform. By automating and democratizing architectural capabilities, qbiq empowers stakeholders - non-designers and designers alike - to plan, visualize, and optimize any space in minutes.
This innovation eliminates delays, manual inefficiencies, and high costs traditionally tied to architectural planning.
Growing rapidly, qbiq is backed by top-tier VCs and has already planned over 600 million square feet in less than two years, serving global industry leaders such as Brookfield, JLL, Skanska, IWG, and many more.
We are looking for an experienced backend developer with deep expertise in cloud technologies to take a senior role in building and scaling our infrastructure. In this position, you will lead core architectural decisions, ensure system performance and reliability, and deliver robust software solutions across multiple services and algorithms. You will also collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to drive best practices and maintain a high engineering standard.
Main responsibilities:
- Architect, design, develop, and deploy scalable, reliable, and maintainable backend systems
- Build and optimize services leveraging AWS
- Conduct code reviews and uphold code quality and best practices
- Stay current with emerging technologies and integrate relevant innovations into our stack
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in backend development using Python or other modern backend languages such as Go, Rust, C#, Java, or Node.js.
- Strong experience with RESTful API development using Flask/FastAPI, or comparable frameworks.
- Hands-on experience with major cloud providers such as AWS and IaC tools like CDK or Terraform.
- Deep knowledge of MySQL or similar RDBMS like PostgreSQL.
- Experience with high-performance data stores like MongoDB and Redis, or equivalent technologies.
- Experience with Docker and container orchestration concepts like Kubernetes or AWS ECS.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines like GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or GitLab CI.
- Experience with queuing systems such as RabbitMQ, or similar message brokers.
- BSc or MSc in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong communication skills, a collaborative mindset, and a “get things done” attitude.
