Why This Job is Featured on The SaaS Jobs
This Senior Sales Systems Engineer role sits at a core junction in SaaS: translating a platform’s technical capabilities into outcomes for large enterprise customers. In data resilience, buying decisions are rarely driven by features alone; they hinge on architecture, risk, compliance, and operational realities. That makes pre-sales engineering a high-leverage function, especially when the product set spans backup, recovery, portability, security, and intelligence.
From a SaaS career standpoint, the position builds durable expertise in enterprise solution design, technical storytelling, and stakeholder management across sales, channel, product, and support. Running proof-of-concepts and leading workshops develops a repeatable playbook for technical validation—skills that transfer across SaaS categories where adoption depends on integration depth and measurable business impact. The “voice of the customer” element also offers a practical lens on product-market fit at the enterprise end of the spectrum.
This role best matches professionals who like being customer-facing while staying close to hands-on systems work. It suits someone comfortable owning complex evaluations end-to-end, communicating with both engineers and executives, and collaborating with partners. It also fits those ready to mentor others and set technical standards for strategic accounts.
