Why This Job is Featured on The SaaS Jobs
Modern SaaS companies increasingly treat internal IT as a product: a curated set of cloud tools, identity controls, and automation that shapes how quickly teams can ship. This Senior Manager, IT role stands out because it sits at the intersection of SaaS-first workplace platforms and security governance, with ownership across collaboration, device management, and the operational fabric that supports a scaling software business.
For a long-term SaaS career, the work builds durable leverage. Managing an internal SaaS stack like Google Workspace, Slack, and Atlassian develops a repeatable playbook for procurement, standardisation, and lifecycle management that translates across many subscription-driven organisations. The emphasis on SLAs, uptime, and employee satisfaction also mirrors the metrics discipline common in customer-facing SaaS, while partnering with Security on IAM and compliance strengthens fluency in risk-aware operations.
This role is best suited to a people leader who enjoys end-to-end accountability and cross-functional alignment, rather than narrow ticket management. It fits someone who likes turning ambiguous productivity problems into systems, automations, and measurable service improvements, and who is comfortable balancing employee experience with security and vendor constraints in a cloud-heavy environment.

Job Description
About the team/role
Reporting to the Senior Director of Corporate Engineering and Security, the Senior Manager of IT will own and modernize Checkr's internal IT function end-to-end, from core infrastructure to the tools that power everyone's daily work. This role leads the IT Operations team, sets the technical roadmap across our identity, collaboration, and device management systems, and drives the adoption of AI and automation to make the whole organization more productive. You'll partner closely with Information Security, the Workplace team, and our Events organization to deliver secure, reliable, and increasingly automated IT experiences as Checkr scales.
What you'll do
- Own and evolve Checkr's internal IT tech stack end-to-end, including Google Workspace, Slack, Zoom, the Atlassian ecosystem, Meraki, and Verkada
- Build and lead a high-performing IT Operations team, driving hiring, goal-setting, and career development for direct reports
- Champion the use of AI and automation (including Anthropic Claude) to streamline IT workflows, reduce manual toil, and unlock productivity across the org
- Partner with Information Security to ensure IAM, device management, and infrastructure decisions meet Checkr's compliance and risk standards
- Partner with the Workplace and Events teams to deliver seamless technical support for offices, conference rooms, and company-wide events
- Define and report on IT operational health through SLAs, uptime metrics, and employee satisfaction data
- Manage vendor relationships across the IT tool stack, ensuring cost-effective, high-quality service for internal customers
What you bring
- 7+ years of experience in a people manager role, ideally leading IT or systems engineering teams
- 4+ years administering enterprise SaaS platforms such as Google Workspace, Slack, Atlassian, Okta, or similar
- Demonstrated success driving AI and automation initiatives that measurably improved productivity or reduced operational overhead
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity fundamentals, including IAM, endpoint management, and vendor security assessments
- Track record of building and scaling IT teams through a period of organizational growth
- An A-player mindset with a strong bias for action: you raise the bar, move with urgency, stay resilient through ambiguity, and take ownership to deliver meaningful outcomes.
