Why This Job is Featured on The SaaS Jobs
PagerDuty operates in a SaaS environment where product delivery, always-on infrastructure, and customer trust are tightly linked. A senior legal leader focused on Product & Privacy sits at the intersection of engineering, security, and go-to-market decision-making—areas where SaaS companies routinely face evolving regulatory expectations and heightened scrutiny around data handling and platform reliability.
For a SaaS legal career, the scope here signals durable, transferable leverage: advising across the product development lifecycle, shaping privacy programs that function globally, and building repeatable frameworks that scale with releases and new capabilities. The remit also touches IP portfolio stewardship and emerging considerations tied to AI, reflecting how modern SaaS counsel increasingly blends traditional legal work with operational design and risk-based product guidance.
This role tends to fit an attorney who prefers being embedded with technical stakeholders rather than operating purely as a reviewing function. It suits someone comfortable translating complex requirements into practical guardrails, coordinating across multiple functions, and leading a specialist team while partnering closely with senior executives on product direction and security posture.
