Why This Job is Featured on The SaaS Jobs
This IT System & Automation Engineer role sits at the operational core of a scaling SaaS organization: identity, device management, cloud administration, and security controls that determine how reliably teams can ship product and how safely they can access systems. The remit spans both SaaS tooling (Okta, Google Workspace, MDM) and underlying infrastructure (cloud and on‑prem virtualization), reflecting the hybrid reality many SaaS companies maintain as they grow.
From a SaaS career standpoint, the role builds durable leverage: designing integrations, standardising access patterns, and automating repeatable workflows that reduce friction across the business. Experience with SSO, lifecycle management, RBAC/JiT, and incident response translates directly across SaaS environments where auditability and least-privilege access are non-negotiable. The emphasis on documentation and internal enablement also mirrors how mature SaaS operators scale IT without scaling headcount linearly.
This position is best suited to someone who prefers cross-functional problem solving over narrow ownership, and who enjoys balancing end-user support with systems engineering. It fits professionals who like building pragmatic automation, can navigate competing priorities across departments, and want their work to be measurable through reliability, security posture, and operational consistency.
