Why This Job is Featured on The SaaS Jobs
This Senior Analytics Engineer, Finance role sits at a core SaaS tension point: aligning product and operational signals with finance-grade reporting. In subscription businesses, revenue timing, reconciliation, and margin narratives are only as reliable as the underlying data layer, and this position is explicitly accountable for making ERP and operational sources converge into a trusted financial view.
For a SaaS career path, the work builds durable leverage in how modern companies measure and forecast recurring revenue businesses. Owning data contracts, quality checks, and governance around finance-critical datasets develops an instinct for auditability and stakeholder trust that carries across analytics engineering roles in SaaS. The remit also touches semantic layer design and self-serve analytics, which are common scaling needs as reporting audiences expand beyond a central data team.
This is best suited to an experienced analytics engineer who enjoys being the dedicated partner to a business function and translating ambiguous questions into reusable data products. It will appeal to someone comfortable with high accountability for definitions and data quality, and interested in building fluency across finance and data platform practices rather than focusing narrowly on dashboard delivery.

Job Description
Reporting to the Data Engineering Manager, the Senior Analytics Engineer (Finance) will be the dedicated data partner for Checkr's Finance organization, owning the models, pipelines, and governance that power how we measure and forecast the business. You will build and maintain the trusted data layer for ledgers, revenue reconciliation, COGS and margin analysis, and forecast model inputs — turning raw ERP and operational data into decision-ready assets. You'll work hand-in-hand with FP&A, Accounting, and Finance leadership, while helping shape one of Checkr's most exciting data platforms alongside a team that's actively building with the latest AI tooling.
What you'll do
- Design, build, and maintain scalable data models and pipelines that support revenue reconciliation, ledger integrity, COGS and margin analysis, and forecast model inputs
- Partner directly with FP&A, Accounting, and broader Finance stakeholders to translate business questions into well-governed, reusable data products in Looker and Omni
- Own the data contracts and quality checks for finance-critical datasets, establishing governance standards that make numbers audit-ready and trusted across the company
- Model data out of ERP systems (NetSuite, Oracle, and similar) and integrate it with operational sources to produce a unified financial view of the business
- Drive adoption of AI-powered workflows and tooling within the analytics engineering stack to accelerate pipeline development, documentation, and stakeholder self-service
- Partner with Data Engineering peers to evolve Checkr's modern data platform, championing best practices in testing, documentation, and lineage
What you bring
- 5+ years of experience in an Analytics Engineering, Data Engineering, or Data Analyst role, ideally with meaningful exposure to Finance or Accounting stakeholders
- Expert SQL and strong experience building production-grade data models and pipelines
- Hands-on experience modeling data from ERP systems such as NetSuite, Oracle, or similar, and strong familiarity with financial concepts like GL, revenue recognition, COGS, and margin
- Experience with BI and modeling tools such as Looker and Omni, and the ability to design semantic layers that scale with stakeholder needs
- Excellent communication skills and a track record of translating ambiguous Finance requirements into technical solutions
- Experience with dbt and Snowflake, and enthusiasm for working with AI-powered development tools, is a strong plus
- An A-player mindset with a strong bias for action: you raise the bar, move with urgency, stay resilient through ambiguity, and take ownership to deliver meaningful outcomes.
What you’ll get
- A fast-paced and collaborative environment
- Learning and development allowance
- Competitive cash and equity compensation, and opportunity for advancement
- 100% medical, dental, and vision coverage
- Up to $25K reimbursement for fertility, adoption, and parental planning services
- Flexible PTO policy
- Monthly wellness stipend
