Why This Job is Featured on The SaaS Jobs
This Staff Product Manager role sits at the intersection of SaaS hiring infrastructure and identity risk, an area becoming more central as AI increases impersonation and synthetic applicant volume. Checkr’s framing of an “identity layer for hiring” signals a platform-oriented problem space where trust, verification, and friction management must coexist across workflows that many SaaS HR tools depend on. The scope spanning dashboards, APIs, and partner integrations reflects how modern SaaS products increasingly compete on embedded capabilities, not standalone features.
For a SaaS product leader, identity and fraud domains build durable skills in designing systems that operate under adversarial pressure, where model performance, user experience, and operational constraints are tightly coupled. Ownership of multi-release roadmaps and success measurement aligns with the iterative, metrics-led operating model common to SaaS. The emphasis on ecosystem knowledge such as ATS integrations and compliance also translates well to other B2B SaaS categories that rely on third-party platforms and regulated data flows.
This role is best suited to someone who enjoys ambiguous problem framing, cross-functional influence, and direct engagement with strategic customers to surface signal from noise. It will fit a product manager who prefers platform and risk work over purely UI-led product areas, and who is motivated by building extensible capabilities that can be reused across multiple customer contexts.

Job Description
In an AI-driven world, distinguishing real from fake is increasingly challenging. AI has made it easy to forge credentials, impersonate individuals, and submit job applications at scale using synthetic identities. More than a third of remote applicants are fake, and Fortune 500 companies experienced a significant rise in hires from state-sponsored fraudulent actors last year. AI has turned the hiring funnel from a protective filter into an open gateway for bad actors. Checkr is building the identity layer for hiring to address this threat.
As the leader of Checkr's Identity Risk solutions, you will set a new standard for trust in hiring by creating a system that validates identity seamlessly and frictionlessly. You will develop best-in-class capabilities that prevent fraud during all phases of the hiring process, to safeguard organizations while improving the experience for legitimate, qualified candidates. You will collaborate closely with engineering and operations teams to ship market-leading products that are intuitive and easy to use.
What you’ll do
- Own the strategy and roadmap for all Identity Risk Solutions, including dashboard products, APIs, and pre-built partner integrations.
- Conduct market analysis to identify high-impact opportunities for your products. This includes competitive research, engaging with industry analysts to understand market trends, and working directly with strategic customers to anticipate their evolving needs.
- Drive cross-functional collaboration across Checkr. Partner with Product Marketing to shape effective go-to-market strategies. Work with other product teams to enable seamless product integrations. Align with Business Development to embed your solutions within partner applications.
- Build and prioritize a multi-release feature roadmap.
- Champion the customer by being the voice of strategic customers and build meaningful, personal relationships with them.
- Measure product success and impact, and identify opportunities for expansion.
- Represent Checkr as a product expert in customer meetings, industry events, and through community platforms and social media.
What you bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field preferred
- 5+ years of product management experience building risk, fraud prevention, and identity verification products, including identity proofing, document verification, biometrics, and hiring-fraud signals

- Deep understanding of recruiting ecosystems, including ATS systems, recruiting workflows, and hiring compliance requirements
- Proven ability to build scalable, extensible platforms that address evolving fraud threats rather than one-off solutions
- Strong cross-functional leadership and influence, partnering with engineering, operations, legal, and sales without direct authority
- An A-player mindset with a strong bias for action: you raise the bar, move with urgency, stay resilient through ambiguity, and take ownership to deliver meaningful outcomes
What you’ll get
- A fast-paced and collaborative environment
- Learning and development allowance
- Competitive cash and equity compensation, and opportunity for advancement
- 100% medical, dental, and vision coverage
- Up to $25K reimbursement for fertility, adoption, and parental planning services
