Why This Job is Featured on The SaaS Jobs
Sisense is operating a mature SaaS platform where foundational “fabric” services—communication layers, orchestration, and core backend components—directly shape product reliability for many tenants and workloads. Featuring an Engineering Manager for this area signals a role anchored in platform engineering rather than feature delivery, with influence over the mechanisms that keep a global cloud service performant and observable.
For a SaaS career, this kind of mandate builds durable leverage: designing distributed services, improving operability, and making architectural trade-offs that matter at scale. The mix of hands-on leadership and ownership across AWS, Kubernetes, messaging, and data stores aligns with the realities of modern SaaS operations, where uptime, latency, and safe change management are as career-defining as new functionality. Experience gained here tends to transfer across SaaS companies that run multi-tenant systems and depend on strong internal platforms.
This role fits an engineering leader who prefers being close to the code while setting standards for delivery, quality, and incident readiness. It will suit someone who enjoys mentoring senior backend engineers, acting as a technical focal point, and partnering across teams to align infrastructure decisions with product needs.

As the EM for Fabric, you will guide a talented group of engineers in designing and delivering the backend components that define our performance, scalability, and reliability. This is a role for a leader who loves technical challenges—you will shape the direction of our core systems while instilling best practices in distributed service design, observability, and orchestration across our global SaaS environment.
What You’ll Do
Team Leadership & Collaboration
- Guide and mentor a team of backend engineers, fostering growth, ownership, and collaboration.
- Promote high engineering standards and a culture of accountability.
- Support delivery processes and agile practices (experience as Scrum Master or team focal point is an advantage).
What You’ve Done So Far
- 2+ years of experience leading an engineering team, with a proven ability to drive technical excellence and professional growth.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in Backend or Full-Stack development, with deep expertise in Node.js.
- Practical experience working within an AWS ecosystem, leveraging Kubernetes, MongoDB, and RabbitMQ.
- A strong understanding of distributed systems and the complexities of SaaS multi-tenant architectures.
- A track record of taking full ownership of complex services - from initial design and architecture to production at scale.
- Experience mentoring engineers, acting as a technical focal point, and driving Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban).
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to bridge the gap between technical execution and business goals.
Why You Should Join Us
- You’ll own key systems that are foundational to Sisense’s platform stability and scale.
- This is a great opportunity to step into leadership, you’ll still code, but also learn to guide and shape a team.
- You’ll work with modern, distributed SaaS infrastructure and cutting-edge cloud technologies.
- Join a passionate team that values engineering excellence, teamwork, and constant learning.
