Why This Job is Featured on The SaaS Jobs
This Associate AI/ML Engineer role stands out in SaaS because it sits close to the product surface of a cloud-based customer experience platform, where machine learning is applied to operational workflows rather than isolated research. In the SaaS ecosystem, that usually means models must behave reliably in production, integrate with existing services, and support real user outcomes at scale.
For a long-term SaaS career, the value is in learning how ML work becomes software: versioned code, reviews, testing discipline, and early exposure to CI/CD and agile delivery. Experience with data preparation, experimentation, and basic deployment concepts builds a foundation for later roles in applied ML engineering, MLOps, or platform teams—paths that are increasingly common as SaaS companies operationalize AI features across their products.
The listing signals a strong fit for early-career engineers who want structured development, clear feedback loops, and incremental ownership of well-defined tasks. It should particularly suit candidates who enjoy collaborating in an agile environment, communicating progress, and strengthening fundamentals in Python while gaining practical familiarity with cloud-oriented ML systems.
The section above is editorial commentary from The SaaS Jobs, provided to help SaaS professionals understand the role in a broader industry context.

Associate AI/ML Engineer
The Team and Your Role
We are seeking an Associate AI/ML Engineer to join our team and begin their professional journey in AI and software development. This is an entry-level position designed for individuals who are passionate about AI/ML and eager to learn from experienced engineers and researchers. You'll work under close supervision while contributing to real-world AI solutions in a cloud environment, with opportunities to grow your technical skills and understanding of production ML systems.
What You Will Do
Work on smaller, well-defined tasks within AI/ML projects under supervision, focusing on building foundational skills in Python development, machine learning concepts, and cloud technologies
Write clean, maintainable code following team standards and best practices, with active participation in code reviews to learn from senior team members
Assist in research, data preparation, model training experiments, and basic feature engineering tasks while learning about ML pipelines and model deployment processes
Participate actively in agile ceremonies (stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives), ask questions to deepen understanding, and communicate progress on assigned tasks
Learn and apply software quality practices including unit testing, version control with Git, and basic CI/CD concepts
Demonstrate hunger to learn new technologies, take on feedback constructively, and show initiative in personal development through documentation, tutorials, and team knowledge sharing
Required Skills & Experience
University degree (Hons 2.1 or higher) in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Data Science, or related discipline (or equivalent experience), with less than 2 years of relevant industry experience or recent graduate
Basic proficiency in Python with understanding of fundamental programming concepts (variables, loops, functions, OOP principles), plus demonstrated interest in AI/ML through personal projects, coursework, or self-study with basic familiarity with machine learning concepts (supervised/unsupervised learning, training/testing)
Ability to explain technical concepts, work collaboratively with team members, and participate actively in agile teams while being comfortable receiving constructive feedback
Willingness and ability to learn quickly, not afraid to ask questions, shows self-motivation through personal projects beyond mandatory coursework, and demonstrates proactive learning of new technologies
Desirable Skills & Experience
The following would be great additions but are not required:
Exposure to at least one ML framework (TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn) through coursework or personal projects
Experience with data manipulation libraries (pandas, NumPy) or basic data visualization tools
Basic familiarity with cloud concepts, introductory experience with AWS services, or understanding of REST APIs
Experience with Java or other programming languages beyond Python (Java experience is particularly beneficial)
Familiarity with Agile methodologies, Jira, or similar project tracking tools
An awkward sense of humor, genuine curiosity, and collaborative mindset (we appreciate authenticity!)
What We Offer
As an Associate AI/ML Engineer, you'll focus on building foundational skills and gaining practical experience. With demonstrated growth in technical proficiency, problem-solving abilities, and independent work, you'll progress toward taking on more complex tasks with less supervision. The goal is to develop into a confident AI/ML Engineer who can own features end-to-end and mentor future associates.
