Why This Job is Featured on The SaaS Jobs
Genesys operates a large-scale cloud SaaS platform in the customer experience category, where reliability and release confidence are directly tied to customer retention and trust. Featuring a Software Engineer in Test role here highlights how quality engineering functions as product infrastructure in mature SaaS: automation, CI/CD integration, and cross-team validation become core mechanisms for shipping changes safely across a broad surface area.
For a SaaS career, this position builds durable leverage in modern delivery practices—treating test suites as software, aligning with agile development cycles, and using tooling such as GitHub and Jira as part of everyday execution. Experience with Selenium and Java in an environment emphasizing end-to-end automation transfers well across SaaS companies that run frequent deployments and need consistent regression protection as feature sets expand.
This role tends to suit engineers who prefer hands-on development work within QA, enjoy diagnosing failures across layers, and want to influence engineering outcomes through measurable quality signals. It also fits someone comfortable collaborating with developers and program counterparts, and interested in strengthening automated coverage rather than focusing on manual test cycles.
The section above is editorial commentary from The SaaS Jobs, provided to help SaaS professionals understand the role in a broader industry context.
